Clamphook

Clamphook is an online educational platform for students preparing for the IOE entrance examination in Nepal. It hosts a large collection of mock tests as well as study materials for students to practice at their own pace. Developed by students and alumni of Pulchowk Campus, Clamphook assures a more authentic learning experience for the students.

The Institute of Engineering (IOE) of Tribhuvan University hosts a nationwide entrance exam each year for students hoping to study in one of its affiliated colleges or institutions. The top performers in the exam are eligible to get admission to the Pulchowk Engineering Campus, often touted as the top engineering institution in Nepal. Given the limited number of seats and thousands of students participating each year, it is one of the most competitive educational exams in Nepal. Most students attend preparatory courses at educational consultancies to better their chances. But the cost of attendance of such courses puts many students at an economic disadvantage. In addition, the classes are often overcrowded which poses a serious risk given the recent COVID pandemic. Clamphook was conceived as an alternative platform to address some of these issues and make the preparation more accessible for every student.

When I joined the project team in September 2020, Clamphook was already live in its alpha testing stage. I was primarily hired to redesign the overall UI of the website and the test module. Some of the modules of the platform I designed include:
